wedding and honeymoon website! |
Damon and Amy are getting married! Those of you who have known Amy for any length of time are probably as shocked as she is at that statement. Those of you who have known Damon for any length of time will assume it's a joke.
They’ve been going strong now for almost two years and decided to make it official.
The plan is to have the wedding ceremony and the honeymoon at the same time, just Amy and Damon. They decided on Hawaii, romantic and secluded, sunsets, beaches, waterfalls, Mai Tai’s, etc. But they still wanted to have a celebration with friends and family, so a “reception” was planned for the Sunday prior to their departure. It is hoped that because you are reading this, that means you’ll be able to join them on Sunday, September 18, for this merriment.
This web site was developed to provide some information about the reception, including directions, pictures, what to expect, etc. Then it seemed like a fun idea to also include the itinerary for their trip. When they return, the plan is to continue to use this site for a photo gallery of pictures taken on the trip, as well as a log of sorts of how the trip went, what was good, what was fabulous, what may have been overrated, what would be recommended or not advised. Maybe this site will help give some guidance to anyone else who may be planning a trip to Hawaii sometime in the future.
Amy and Damon are excited about their new adventure together as partners, in both the near and distant future.
The reception will be held on Sunday, September 18th, from 7pm to 11pm in the Winter Park Country Club in Winter Park, Florida. This is a quaint little place with two big rooms separated by a connecting hallway. In the front room will be tables and chairs. It will be open seating, so put your stuff down anywhere and start mingling. The back room will be kept open for dancing. There will still be some tables and chairs back there, so upon arrival dancers can probably just proceed to the back and find a place there for their dancing gear, and then come on back to the front room where all the food and drinks are!
There won’t be any dinner served, so you’ll probably want to eat first - but save room! Although the food theme is “cake and champagne,” there will actually be several kinds of different desserts and munchies, along with plenty to drink: beer, wine, sodas, Gatorade, bottled water, and coffee. In the spirit of Aloha, traditional Mai Tai’s will be the specialty drink of the evening. There will be champagne, as well as orange juice for those who don’t care for champagne but can drink a mimosa. There will also be non-alcoholic alternatives.
There have been some questions regarding attire. It’s a dressy affair, but not formal. Maybe semi-formal, but not necessarily. You’ll probably want to wear something you would wear for a nice evening out. But there will be a lot of dancing, so try to dress cool and comfortable!

The Big Day! Today is the first day of the rest of their lives. It’s not too late to cancel...
Thumb twirling, pacing, nail biting until they make their way to Lumahai Beach for the sunset ceremony.
Rev. Koko Kanealii is the minister.
They’ll watch their first sunset as a married couple and make their way back to the condo under the nighttime sky.
The quarter moon will be rising late, making the sky perfect for stargazing.

Wake up married! What better way to celebrate their first day of marriage than to risk life and limb by flying over the
forest canopy hanging from a caribiner? After a hearty breakfast they’ll head out for their Zip ‘n’ Dip Expedition at 1:15pm
on the north side of island.
Funny, when Amy was booking the reservation for the Zip ‘n’ Dip, she explained that they couldn’t do it the 27th because they were getting married that day, but that they could do it the 28th or 29th. He quickly assumed that they would want to do it the 29th, then. Amy asked why not the 28th, and he said, “Well, I don’t really want to get into it, but if you’re getting married the day before, you might be tired…” Ahhhhh, ok, that explains it. Whatever. She made the reservation for the 28th. |

Another day of outdoor activities. This day it’s the Backcountry Tubing Adventure at 12:30pm on the east side of the island.
Ahhhh, relaxing, pleasant, peaceful, quaint, educational – cold butts!
A sunset sail might be the perfect way to finish off their Kauai visit.

Ok, so it won’t be active, but still, a volcano! Here’s a little more like it will probably be:
It’s going to be cold!!! After they’re finished, off to some beach to sleep it off.

Sheree said they should do Hike Maui:
Then rest their tired quadriceps on traditional mat seating at the famous Old Lahaina Luau for dinner.
It’s right on a western coast of Maui. Yet another blissful Hawaiian sunset.
