Thank you for taking an interest in our wedding registry. We have received numerous questions regarding wedding gifts and
where we're registered, so here's something we created to explain how we feel.
Really, we had no intention of registering anywhere. We just wanted to have a big party and share our joy with
our family and
friends before we embark on a wonderful journey of love and happiness. This has already started with a number of life
changes. Damon sold his house and moved in with Amy. Half of his furniture was left with the house and the rest
of it sits in Amy's garage. As a result, both of us have more stuff than we know what to do with. To complicate things, we
might be moving to Manhattan sometime in the future. With this in mind, we really don't need any wedding gifts. We could
use, however, a good yard sale.
So that's why we haven't registered at any of the usual wedding registry places. We are, however, taking a trip to Hawaii
for a dreamy two-week honeymoon. Since people were asking us where we were registered and threatened to add to our
collection of toasters and towels if we didn't give them some ideas, we considered opening an account on one of
those online
honeymoon registry web sites. We thought that, if anything, we could just use some help towards the cost of the
honeymoon.
But the online services were simply unreasonably expensive. We couldn't see throwing away hundreds of dollars,
that would be
so much better spent on airfare or hotel rooms, just to pay for the online registry hosting - especially when
Damon has the
skills to do it himself in about an hour. So that's what he did, and that's where you are now. It cost us $10.
Plus it was
exciting to create! Entering the various items involved in our trip got us anxious for the adventure that awaits
us.
If you really wish to buy us something for our wedding, a contribution toward the honeymoon would be wonderful.
Something we're sure to actually use! You can look at the different things we have planned and make purchases
toward them, or there
are also generic gift certificates available that can be applied toward any of the things listed or toward unplanned
activities. Everything you see has already been booked - we're ready to go! It's an e-commerce website, a
simple tool to facilitate purchases.
If you still wish to buy your own gift, or if you choose not to buy us anything, we still love you! We requested your
company, and we'd much rather you come to the reception and dance and laugh and be merry with us and give us a
good send-off
to our honeymoon, than have you fret about a silly gift.
